Leaving.

He stood mute, unfeeling, numb. She, felt unsettled like a storm was raging inside her. He got the suitcase from the car and stood silently. She went towards him, hugging him, resting her head on his chest, feeling the crisp white cotton shirt as she whispered “Bye”. She could feel the water sting her eyes as she pulled away from him and reached out to take her suitcase. She was flying in a few days to go back to America, to join her husband, and she knew she would not be coming back again. She knew perhaps she would never see him again. “Bye”, he said, as she walked away. She could not look back anymore. She knew she would not forget him, ever.
